The Tourism Council of Frederick County developed the Hip & Historic Frederick initiative, a nod to all things great—hip and historic—that can be discovered, enjoyed, and explored within Frederick County, Maryland. Including a 50-block historic district that boasts notable restaurants, shopping, arts & entertainment, patios, and beautiful historic architecture.
The Tourism Council of Frederick County marketing team needed an identity developed for the Hip & Historic Frederick brand that would stand apart from the official Visit Frederick tourism brand.
The team wanted to spark an interest in the story behind this new initiative. The identity's brandmark seemingly showcases the new suspension bridge found along Carroll Creek in downtown Frederick, but if you look closely you'll see two famous, historic covered bridges at the foundation of that suspension bridge. This merger not only symbolizes the bridging of the past, present, and future, and all the wonderful things that Frederick County has to offer, but it also features two H's...Hip and Historic.
