Every day it seems another magazine goes exclusively online. And yet there’s a distinct group of people out there who aren’t ready to let go of their good ol’ printed and stitched publication. Those people are the alumni and friends of Mount St. Mary’s University. The magazine is Mount.
As important as it is to these folks, Mount needed a facelift. The content, the layout, even the advertising. Everything. After all, Mount is more than stories, it’s a point of pride. It’s a conversation piece for the Mount St. Mary’s University community and a centerpiece for their coffee tables. I was hired to help make sure it stays that way.
Playing the roles of both designer and creative director, I was able to reinvent the magazine with a look that is approachable, modern, and forward-thinking. It all came together in one beautiful piece that truly represents the caliber of the university itself. And perhaps more importantly, it invites readers in and keeps them turning the pages.
